What is Nerve pain?

Nerve plays vital role in our body movement system in transmitting signals. Our nerve communicates with each other through neuro-muscular junction in order to produce movement in the muscles or joints. Prolonged compression, repetitive movement or improper ergonomics causes inflammation to the nerve such as carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS), cubital tunnel syndrome. Any interruption / damage / injury occurs to this pathway would lead to sensory changes (tingling / pin-pricking / burning/pain) and reduced motor function (muscles weakness / wasting) such as foot drop or wrist drop.

  • US (Ultrasound)
*using sound energy to reduce inflammation and pain at the local point through micro-massage effect thereby fasten recovery process

Thermal therapy

  • Hot / cold therapy
*Utilize hot/ cold therapy to improve blood circulation and reduce pain

Patient Education

Educate proper ergonomics on wrist position while using mouth and keyboard. This is to prevent prolonged compression on the nerve structure that leads to pain and numbness.

Frequent break in between works and targeted stretching exercises are able to minimize the irritability of nerve pain in daily activities.
